The first Midland traveller for the RS Feva was held at a picture perfect Draycote Water last Saturday, an event aimed at new sailors to the class with coaching by national coach Tim Rush. The wind however had other ideas… with just thermal filled winds to play with which was a challenge for all including the race management, yet to their credit still ran 4 races during the glimpses of what could have been lovely conditions had the wind settled.

We had 3 teams competing for South Staffs which was great to see in the Feva’s first year as an official class at the club. Olly H & Kyle finished 3rd with Jack & Isabella close behind in 4th place in their first Feva event, and Mia & Oli R finishing a creditable 7th in Mia’s first event helming and Oli’s first event crewing – well done team. Despite the conditions the cream still rose to the top with the ever consistent pairing of Freddie & Stella sailing at their home club in 1st place with a picket fence score.

South Staffs are hosting a Feva midland traveller on the 8th October which will hopefully be a coached event too, we are looking to have some boats on hand to use from RS, should club members without boats wish to take part, please get in touch asap if you are interested..!
